Free EVTrust, the free education project initiated and implemented by EVTrust in partnership with Abroader*, has gained initial achievement only one month after launching.

In between May 17, 2021 and June 11, 2021, the Free EVTrust project has brought opportunities to study English to approximately 300 students from different regions of the country, especially those from remote and rural areas.

The students have also experienced the online English communication courses with the US volunteers. Classes are set up through the Zoom platform provided by EV Academy - a high-quality online school of EVTrust - with a maximum of 50 students per class.

During a 45-minute lesson, three volunteers take turns to guide students English communication skills in three different classes. The classes will start at 8 pm and end at 10 pm from Monday to Thursday.

The lessons are repeated throughout the day, mainly focusing on enhancing students' communication skills in common situations and cultural exchange activities. Students can choose any class in their preferred time.

The project has received good feedback from parents and students.

Hong Vinh, a student from an ethnic minority in the northern mountainous area of Lang Son Province, shared in her video clip sent to EV Academy that her hometown located in a disadvantaged area with limited learning conditions, especially when it came to learning English. Not sure what this last part is supposed to say. “Shared a video that her hometown located” – Don’t think this makes sense.

“I always hoped there would be someone who could can help me correct my pronunciation so I could can speak English better. I feel very lucky to be able to participate on in this course.”

“I was surprised and a little embarrassed as many of my classmates could speak English very well although they were much younger than me. I’ve told myself to study harder so that my life will be better and I can help the children in my hometown learn English so and they can have a good life, too,” she said.

EV Educational, or EVTrust for short, was established in 2014 in the UK with a mission to promote educational equality, support poor children in Vietnam to nurture their dreams, help families with financial difficulties, and spread the spirit of social responsibility in the community.

In November 2017, EVTrust officially cooperated with Viet Nam-based educational agencies to provide free courses for Vietnamese students. This is a significant program, which ensures financial difficulties are no longer a barrier for Vietnamese students to access knowledge.
